One fish, two fish

We recently welcomed two additions to our fish section: Fish: Recipes from the sea by the Silver Spoon Kitchen and The River Cottage Fish Book. Providing the fundamentals of sustainability and basic varieties of fish and shellfish, both are future classics from trusted authors.

The beauty of Fish lies in its brevity. Concise and to the point, recipes are rooted in the Italian tradition. Basic prep and cleaning are detailed with visuals in the back. As with all Phaidon titles, the photography and design are comely and approachable.

A (slightly) different kettle of, er, fish, River Cottage continues its reputation for thorough and thoughtful tomes. Recipes are straightforward, international in flavour and decidedly un-boring.
