The PDT Cocktail Book

The best books are not necessarily the ones that do the most. But the inverse is also true, some books that do a lot ARE the best. Case in point, PDT, a book of recipes (cocktails, hot dogs, misc.). It’s also a thorough cocktail primer with stock lists (ingredients, equipment, further reading, misc.), and very generously, a business plan for a speakeasy. There is an inviting personal narrative here, cleverly woven into an otherwise passive-voiced manual. It’s also a nuanced comic art book, with high-contrast illustrations by artist Chris Gall. Basically, this book is EVERYTHING. You will lose your mind. And that’s before you even start drinking.
